Outbursts! Meltdowns! Hot latte in your face! There seems to be a growing epidemic of female politicians taking crazy pills.
In a recent St. Petersburg Times article, former employees of US Rep. Katherine Harris (R-FL) attempt to get some closure by raking her over the coals for her abusive treatment. Commentors on the Obscure Store post that led me to the aforementioned article also make references to US Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX) and US Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) as being equally bad seeds.
I don’t know if any of them would survive a catfight with tempermental New York state Senator Ada Smith(D-Queens) (aka “the Wild Woman of Albany”), though. Her violent behavior has generated a lot of press, including a NY Post article with the terribly lame headline, ‘Coffee Scald’ Pol in Hot Water With Senate and, of course, Wonkette’s fine coverage is worth reading.
You know, I’m inclined to believe that women in positions of power earn the title of “Bitch” a little too easily when exhibiting the same behavior that is found to be within acceptable norms for men in the same position. That being said, I just can’t find any way to justify these women’s unacceptable antics, and the high turnover in their staffing comes as no surprise. Please, ladies, stop making us look bad!
Who else do you think belongs in the ring with these psychokitties?
