If you need serious proof of concept of the power of intention to manifest what you want in your life, look no further.

one red paperclipMy name is Kyle MacDonald and I traded one red paperclip for a house.

Yet another one of those goofy ideas by accidental entrepreneurs that I wish I had thought of myself.

There is such a thing as a natural-born entrepreneur… But the accidental entrepreneur like me has to fall into the opportunity or be pushed into it. [Gordon E. Moore]

The reason I have described these guys as accidental instead of natural-born entrepreneurs is because they started with ideas that they didn’t expect become as wildly successful as they did. I’m not sure that is an accurate description, though. The mere fact that they went ahead and gave it a shot anyway suggests to me that they are actually natural-born entrepreneurs. Inspiring stuff, at any rate. I happen to have a red paperclip on my desk, and I think now I will keep it around as a reminder that anything is possible.

ok.. have u done the LM Forum? or something of that sort? ‘Transformation..Power of Intentions’ etc… Wondering whats more fun.. Born Entrepreneur? or accidental? I mean obviously being accidental entre has the enigma of ‘what next’.. which i don think a natural entrepreneur may have. anyways.. whaddup?

Hey Alok! Hm, I’m not sure what LM Forum is and googling it wasn’t very illuminating. I have done some reading here and there, though, about the power of intention and that sort of thing. I’ve always found it to be a plausible but “easier said than done” concept. I think I’d rather be a born entrepreneur than an accidental one, myself, but right now I don’t fit into either category very well. What about you?

Lm forum = Landmark Forum, google Landmark Education. Its a self dev sorta thingy, so dunno how much it will interest you. And like you, I don’t seem to fit in either. But too early to tell , I’m still studying! But if I’m not mistaken, usually these born entrepreneurs are leaders from start, college or out in world. Which in my case I believe is missing.

I’m very interested in self development, but I’m cautious about methodolgy and organizations. I approach organizations and methods with an open mind but a critical filter; then take what seems useful and discard the rest. From my past experience, I’ve discovered that sometimes methods that produce good results can come from a flawed organization, and vice versa. From my cursory check on Landmark, it appears to be controversial. Perhaps we could hook up via IM some time and talk about this stuff in more depth.

Re born leaders, I am definitely not one either, but I’m not sure I buy the philosophy that people who appear to be born leaders are always born that way, not made. I think anyone has potential to effect great change in themselves. Granted, potential is one thing, actuality is usually something else!

Ole, yes I didn’t know about the ‘contreversy’ surrounding landmark, untill after I had done it. Though sitting in that hall, LMF didn’t seem like any brainwashing and cult type of thing. as over Im’ing..sure thing. gmail does for you? you have my email id anways? I’m usually online all the time..:P. BTW I accidently subscribes to your comments, no offence, but my inbox is already crammed with mails from forums. So can you remove it from there? Thanks.
