Kerby has been doing much better recently. He seems much happier at the new place, and his increased liveliness hopefully means that the new food with glucosamine and chondroitin in it is helping with his joint problems. I felt like giving him a kick in the head today, though.
I didn’t get much sleep last night and tried to take a little nap in the afternoon (which, thanks to a variety of repeated interruptions, never happened). As is his way, Kerby was sprawled across the bed taking his own nap, so I stretched out and wrapped my arms around him to pull him into a better cuddle position. Well, he didn’t much care for that and expressed this by biting my face. Now I have two nice new puncture wounds, one between my nose and upper lip, and one on the left side of my upper lip. Wow, that hurt, and the gushing blood was alarming! Fortunately it wasn’t so bad that I stitches were necessary, but the experience was a little unnerving. I knew Kerby didn’t particularly like being moved like that, but he’s never responded quite so dramatically. Guess I need to learn to respect his boundaries more!
